ANGERS

The Town

Why would you choose Angers ?

Angers, capital of the Loire Valley is the best place to be. We are about 1 h 30 from Paris by train where you could go to have a lovely week end. Otherwise you definitely might have a swim in the Atlantic Ocean (1h30 driving). Angers is a city which regroups about 30000 students, with a really friendly atmosphere. We all are very beautiful, smart, and love to make many parties ! So, this town is the solution to pass a very good work placement !

The city size is perfect, (not too big not too small) the hospital is 10 to 20 minutes walking from the city center. You could have access to free bicycles rentals… Or just have some rest in one of our great park. Angers is a city of History ; with the award of “villes d’art et d’histoire.”

The Clerkship

Training course :

The non-resident students that you’ll be, called “externs” (under the 6th year) are spread in the entire hospital department. You‘ll be at the hospital every morning from Monday to Friday schedules depend on the department you’ll be (often between 9:00 – 13:00). Clothes in surgical units and white coats are provided, but students must bring their materials (stethoscope, reflex hammer). Your role depends on the departments : most of the time, students write patient’s history and do clinical examination, follow the ward rounds and the staffs and finally file the medical records. In surgical field, you can help in operating room.

Period :

You’re welcome all year long except May June and January (we have our exams)

The Hospital

Angers’s hospital is a public universitary hospital. We’ll help you to your integration in the department.

The University

The medical faculty of Angers is next to the hospital. You’ll meet many students very nice. You could have a lunch there in the universitary restaurant (RU). The coma is the student association of the faculty ! It gives us the possibility to realize many project like parties, meet foreign students…

All departments are available.
